We are Paula and Marga, two artisans who believe that handmade creations deserve a place where craftsmanship comes first.
For years, we enjoyed selling our work on Etsy. It was once a wonderful place where independent makers, small ateliers, and creative people could meet customers from all over the world.
But over time, things changed.
Why we left Etsy
New regulations made it increasingly difficult for small European makers to keep their shops running. Mandatory business registrations in situations where they are not always required, complicated identity verification procedures, and biometric checks that regularly caused problems for genuine sellers became frustrating obstacles. At the same time, fees continued to rise.
For us, however, that wasn't even the biggest reason to leave.
We felt that the original spirit of handmade was slowly disappearing.
When we first joined Etsy, it felt like visiting your local craft market online. You bought directly from the lady who knitted the blanket, the gentleman who turned wooden bowls in his workshop, or the neighbour who spent evenings quilting by hand.
Today, many customers find it increasingly difficult to distinguish genuine handmade products from factory-made goods, large commercial sellers, and dropshipping businesses. We missed the personal connection between maker and customer that had inspired us in the first place.

Handmade Luxury Home is exclusively for Europe. Every product on our platform is handmade in Europe and shipped only within Europe.
Why? Because we believe it simply makes sense.
Shipping a small handmade gift halfway around the world creates unnecessary transport, higher costs, customs formalities, and a larger environmental footprint. Too often, these costs are hidden in the final price, while customers have little idea where their purchase actually comes from.
We have chosen a different path.
By focusing on Europe, we can support local artisans, keep shipping distances reasonable, avoid unnecessary import procedures, and offer honest, transparent prices. We believe beautiful handmade products don't need to travel across oceans to find a loving home.
