The small cards are rectangular and lovely minimalist, yet festive.

Apart from being a lovely woman's name, Holly -as a plant- has a strong cultural resonance. We have used it as a Christmas and Midwinter or Yule decoration since Victorian times. Even long before that time, for pagans, it was customary to bring holly boughs in to decorate the house. Holly was a powerful fertility symbol and was supposed to protect a family home againstill fortunes. Holly provided protection from lightning. At Yule, we bring Holly in our homes to remind us that green foliage will return when the darker midwinter days grow shorter.
