Lapwing Couple Art Print (Mounted)
No AI involved. This is an art print of a Lapwing couple resting near their nest.
By Paula Kuitenbrouwer, Dutch artist and owner of www.paulakuitenbrouwer.com.
The Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) is also known as a Peewit. When you pronounce "Peewit," you hear the sound this bird makes.
Lapwings lay their eggs from late March to early June, and chicks hatch 3-4 weeks later. The chicks are covered in down when they hatch and can walk and feed within hours. The parents do not feed them. Born on open meadows, the parents defend them constantly. This takes all their energy, so the chicks are designed to feed themselves from day one.
This couple has just laid two eggs. One parent stands guard while the other tends to the nest.
The print comes in protective cellophane.
It makes a gift: packed and ready to frame or not to frame, to display on a small easel or shelf.
For a couple expecting.
For bird-watchers.
For farmers who love the sight and sounds of Peewits.
Printed details are clear.
Many frame my art prints, but minimalist customers place the mounted print on their shelves, which works too.
