Two placemats of thick, sturdy denim, each one finished by hand: a soft matcha-green embroidery and a hand-sewn Asian window motif — a quiet nod to the timeless Japanese textiles.

They are true twins, with gentle, intentional differences in colour and detail, because everything here is made by hand and no two pieces are ever quite alike.

Denim gives them weight and durability — they lie beautifully on any table, wooden or linen, modern or classic — while the embroidery lends the table a soft, artisan refinement. Approx. 42 × 50 cm.

Care
Made and then washed with the same care we recommend for their future: wool programme, 30°C, a little gentle soap, dried flat. Simple and kind to the stitches.

Our table tip
Set the table with the embroidery showing — it deserves to be seen. Then, just before serving, simply turn the placemats over: the sturdy denim side faces the food and protects the needlework beneath. Two faces, one placemat: beauty for the eyes before dinner, ease during it.

Call them "Kyoto Placemats" or "Matcha Window Set" if you like, it makes the pieces memorable.
