Circular Art

On today’s NOS Journaal (16 May 2026), there was a segment about the urgency of transitioning to a circular economy. We must use raw materials, waste, and components more efficiently—it’s no longer a voluntary choice, but a necessity. A deadline has even been set. So, let’s get to work, everyone!

I can say this with confidence because I’ve been actively involved in this movement for a long time. For example, I once placed a call in a local newspaper asking people to donate unused neckties. The response was overwhelming—I received piles of them! I sorted them by color and material (silk is always more beautiful than polyester) and turned them into a dress, a hat, a bag, and—see below—even a laptop sleeve made from the most luxurious silk ties. And that’s just the beginning.

More recently, I upcycled barely worn T-shirts, hoodies, and jogging pants (too good to throw away, for whatever reason) into a soft pink blanket. It turned out beautifully and is incredibly cozy. There are many more examples like this.

On this website, you’ll find an increasing number of Circular Arts projects, because in every area of art, there’s ample opportunity to circulate, recycle, and upcycle.
